ACTION: Russia Hacked The Election Special Investigation Now

Thank you Indivisible Nation for this Update

Russia hacked our election with the intention of putting Trump in power, according to our top lawmakers and our intelligence and law enforcement agencies. Sen. Dianne Feinstein even said yesterday that Russian intervention changed the election outcome. Republican leaders have deflected calls for a bipartisan, independent investigation.
Now it’s our turn. We need a special investigation. NOW.
Here’s who to call:
Loretta Lynch, Attorney General: Hi, my name is… and I am from… I am calling to ask the Attorney General to immediately appoint a special counsel to investigate Donald Trump’s ties to Russia and the impact of Russian hacking on the election. The Department of Justice is in a unique position to appoint a special counsel independent of political influence. I ask you to use your power to ensure that the American people obtain a thorough investigation of these matters. We need to know the full extent of Russian interference, whether Trump’s campaign team had contact with Russian operatives, and what Trump’s entanglements with Vladimir Putin really are. In short, we need to know if our democracy is safe.
Office of the Attorney General: (202) 353-1555
Your Member of Congress: Hi, my name is… and I am a constituent. I am calling to ask Representative _________ to issue a public statement demanding an immediate bipartisan congressional investigation of Russian hacking of our election. Furthermore, I ask that he/she demand the resignation of House Oversight Committee chair Jason Chaffetz, who has refused to call for a special investigation into Russian hacking or Trump’s numerous conflicts of interest. Instead he is targeting the director of the independent Office of Congressional Ethics Walter Shaub for doing his job -- safeguarding American interests from corruption and ethical breaches. Rep. Chaffetz’s naked attempts to silence an independent and ethical public servant should disqualify him from chairmanship of the House Oversight Committee.

Congressman Jason Chaffetz, House Oversight Committee Chair: Hello, my name is… and I am calling to ask the Chairman to immediately call for a special investigation by a bipartisan commission into Russian interference in the election. The evidence is piling up and the American people deserve to know the full extent of Trump’s ties to Russia before he takes office next week. The Chairman should be investigating Trump’s conflicts of interest, and not the director of the Office of Government Ethics (Walter Shaub) for doing his job -- protecting the American people. Rep. Chaffetz’s responsibility is to maintain high ethical standards by all who serve in government, not to engage in naked partisanship.
House Oversight Committee: (202) 225-5074
Rep. Jason Chaffetz: (202) 225-7751
