ACTION: Stop Betsy DeVos For Secretary of Education.

Thank you Indivisible Nation for this Update
Don't sit still for a Secretary of Education who wants to actively undermine public education. Tuesday is the day to tell your senators NO.
Stand with us as we Flood the Lines. Call your senators and call your friends!
1) Lament to Lamar! Between 12:30 and 2 PM on Tuesday, 1/17, call Sen. Lamar Alexander, Chairman of the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee. Call your own senators too! A blitz effort with the script below shows that there is an organized effort to block DeVos’ nomination - and that makes our representatives pay attention.
Script: Hello, I am a concerned citizen/constituent calling to express my opposition to the appointment of Betsy DeVos. She knowingly violated Ohio campaign finance law and then refused to pay the resulting fine. A major donor, she lacks experience in public education -- she has never been a student, parent, or educator in the field. She wants to use the Department of Education to funnel taxpayer money into private religious schools and unregulated, for-profit charters at the expense of thousands of existing and beloved community schools.
(If you talk to a live person and you are a constituent, continue:) What is the senator doing to oppose this dangerous appointment? If I don't see appropriate action on this appointment, I will consider not voting for him in the next election and will encourage my network to oppose him as well.
